It is becoming apparent that more and more people are liking Facebook pages, rather than visiting websites to see what's new.
Makes perfect sense really.
With this change in surfing style, and due to the large amount of time we spend maintaining both our website and our Facebook page, we are setting this page up as an information site only. Please feel free to read all the information here while you are deciding if guinea pigs are for you.
Guinea pigs are GREAT, but they're not for everyone.
Have a good read, and feel free to contact us with any further questions.

Princess Bubbalina, our latest permanent resident at the Jiggley Piggley Farm!
I hope everyone had as wonderful, and exhausting Christmas, as Bubba!
Doesn't get any cuter than our little Butternut!
Feeling a little swamped in technology lately.
Facebook, which is GREAT, text messaging, and the cellphone/computer in my pocket, has made me on the job pretty much 24/7.
New hours of operation will hopefully allow me some down time. I'm always happy to hear from you. Please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Sara and her new friends, Zola and Molly!
WHOO HOO, we're spreadin' the love Canada!
Buster and Sundae's new family are driving here to fetch them on Labor Day weekend.
They will be our furthest travelers ever. as our little cuties hit the road to New Brunswick!
(P.S. This is a piggie purposed road trip. We do not ship our piggies)
Quite unexpectedly, our sweet little mascot Moe passed away this morning.
We'll miss him.
Had a very adorable visitor on our front lawn this morning!
Big adoption day today! Whoo hoo!
Kayleigh and Bob
Little Kayleigh, and her family, stopped by for a visit. They met the guinea pigs, and gathered information, so they can decide if they will get a pair. You can't have too much information!
Bob, along with his friend Craig, visits Parc Baie Valois in Dorval.
No one is too cool to resist Bob's cutness!
Little Buddha, only the third skinny pig that has even been at the Jiggley Piggley Farm. Click here to meet him!
Until further notice, we are full to capacity!
We will update this announcement as soon as we are able to accept any new guinea pigs.

New piggies added today!!
9 new cuties to kick off 2014!
Lea and Sarah took home their new family members, K.W. and Kiwi today! Big day for four little cuties!
Little Bear arrived yesterday. She had been wandering loose in the yard of 93 year old, Helen.
Helen and her neighbor, Barbara decided they were going to try and catch the little creature before anything bad might happen to her. They rigged up a system with a net and a cage, and tried all afternoon to capture her,
with no luck!
With Barbara on one level of terrain, and Helen on the other, they persisted! Sure enough, together they caught Little Bear, and brought her here, where she has fit right in with a mother and her two daughters about the same age as Little Bear.
Great story! I wish I had thought of photographing Helen and Barbara with their little prize....a great photo oppotunity missed!
If you see this, call me and we'll do a photo shoot. I would be thrilled to do it!
4 new piggies arriving from on Sunday, September 15. Don't know anything about them, so it'll be a real surprise bag !

Jeannie and her little friend, Oreo.
I see a lot of guinea pigs that are not very well looked after, so it was a pleasure to meet Jeannie and Oreo today.
Oreo is about 6 weeks old and very cute. She is one of those very few fearless guinea pigs.
Oreo perched herself on her haunches in the palm of my hand, and proceeded to groom herself, as we talked about guinea pig care. She's really quite special, and as you can see, her owner Jeanie is very proud of her too!
When Guinea Pigs and Guitar Students Collide!
We met Carolyn when she adopted Rusty from us about a year ago. She has since aquired a second guinea pig, Peanut.
Since her adoption, she has also become one of Kim's most promising young guitar students!
She brought them to her guitar lesson today to show us how much they've grown!
Click here to visit Kim's West Island Guitar Teacher site!
We've been having some problems with fox visiting our outdoor critter pens. So, while more a more secure area is underconstruction, T-Bone has the piggies covered!
Sadly, our little friend Hoppy died this morning.
I feel surprisingly sad about that. You get used to small animals passing when you do what I do....but some still manage to tug on my heart strings.
Jodie and I found Hoppy at a garage sale in June, 2007. He was about a year or so old at that time. We don't "rescue" rabbits, so I was not going to get him and returned to the car, where Jodie was waiting. She would have no part of that, and escorted me back to buy him. Hoppy was the best $5.00 I have ever spent. I'm very glad that she made me go back.
He lost his sight last summer and we knew he was becoming increasingly frail, but he still enjoyed his furry friends, Buddy and Buttons, and he loved daily his trips out to the pen. He was munching on grass outside just last night.
I'm thankful he was taken quickly and didn't suffer. Hoppy was about 7 years old.
Bye Hoppy, you were a very good rabbit!!!
Guinea pigs are VERY susceptible to heat stroke!
Before setting them up outside this summer Here are some terricfic tips to keeps your Cavies happy and safe in the summer months......
Poor little cuties, Dorie and Brownie are back and waiting for adoption yet again!
Still as cute as ever though!
Dorie's little ones are pretty distracting for young guitar students coming for thier lessons!
My favorite guinea pig of all time, Smidgen, dropped in for boarding this week!
They don't get any sweeter than this.
Way to long between updates! Sorry about that!
Tying the Knot in Furry Matrimony
An article by Linda Zlatkin for The Suburban Newspaper, Nov 14th, 2012
On Saturday, Oct. 20 at noon, a very unique couple became husband and wife in the backyard of the Manis family home. There was a 20-minute ceremony complete with bridesmaids and flower girls, vows and speeches and a video being filmed. However, the bride and groom who stood underneath the chuppah (a canopy beneath which Jewish ceremonies are performed) were quite unusual, to say the least. Bubbles and Oreo are guinea pigs.
“My friend Jordan and I had this idea to get our guinea pigs together and make a wedding for them,” said 10-year-old Carly Manis, a Grade 5 student with Jordan Routtenberg at Solomon Schechter Academy, a Jewish day school on Côte St. Luc Road.
Bubbles, the female, belongs to Carly while Oreo, the male, belongs to Jordan. To make sure their pets were compatible they first got them together for a play date. After this went off without a hitch the plans began.
“We made invitations with pictures of both guinea pigs on them that we sent out to all 25 kids in our class,” said Manis, who lives in Town of Mount Royal. “We bought the outfits at the store, Build-A-Bear.” Bubbles, adorned in her white dress and veil, and Oreo, dressed in his black tuxedo, were carried down the aisle in little baskets held by their owners as guests, seated on either side of the aisle, threw flower petals.
“Instead of a pillow with rings on it, we had a pillow with carrots,” continued Manis. “Everyone got very creative and into the planning. One of our friends was the rabbi. We made a chuppah that we put the baskets under. We had a little bouquet of roses for Bubbles and an Oreo cookie wedding cake. Another friend brought a basket of Aero chocolate bubbles and mint cookies.”
People brought gifts, like gift certificates for pet products, vegetables, baked goods, loot bags and even more outfits.
“The party, complete with music and pizza, was a huge success,” said Carly's mom, Samantha Manis. “The guests even did a hora (a traditional Israeli circle dance) as Carly and Jordan held the bride and groom in their baskets.” And although the marriage was arranged, things certainly looked like they were working out for caramel coloured Bubbles and black and white Oreo. “Our pets seemed happy and to be getting along. They were kissing a lot,” added Carly.
Although Bubbles and Oreo are owned by different families, they are currently both here for the holidays while their families vacation. They were kind enough to pose for a portrait yesterday. It was an interesting sitting indeed! I have a bit of a surprise for them when they return... I wonder how they feel about same sex mariages?
Jodie turned 18 today!
Happy Birthday Baby!

Pickles is in the Building!
One year old female, Pickles arrived from Ottawa on the weekend. At the moment she is in a tentative pairing with Jinga, but it is not set in stone as of yet. Pickles is a real plump little cutie!
There's been alot of drama surrounding the health of little Biscuit over the past week. She's been through alot and continues to be a worry. I will be putting her story on the website shortly, but anyone interested in following her progress can join us on Facebook, by clicking the link at the top of this page!
Click on his picture to visit the Jiggley Piggley Spa and see his BEFORE picture!
Here They Are!
Nigel and Smudge.... the last two to squeeze in for now.
Smudge was here in mid-August. He was adopted as a cagemate for Nigel, who is about the same age. Unfortunately, their owners quickly lost interest in them. Now at about 4 months old, they are looking for a new home. Pretty darn adorable!
These are the last two commitments I had made, and now we will be concentrating on placing a good number of the guinea pigs that here now.
We have lots of little cuties that need homes!
October 13, 2012
Oh oh , We're FULL!
Sorry, we are not accepting any new guinea pigs at this time.
On the other hand, we DO have plenty of little cuties needing new homes!

A little Surprise from the Backyard Gang!
Two new cuties from Toronto!
Duke and Daisy!
Duke and Daisy visited the Jiggley Piggley Farm today. They have an interesting story...hope I get it right!
My client purchased two baby guinea pigs at a large chain pet store...any guesses where?
It soon became clear to their new family that they had a skin problem. They both has bald scaly patches. When they went back to the store they were told to choose two others, and these ones would see a vet for treatment.
Well no surprises here, Daisy and Duke were chosen and they too had the same skin condition.
Daisy and Duke have since been treated for skin mites and are making a speedy recovery!
It's very annoying to hear these stories!
How adorable is Smidgen!? So gentle and sweet!
She needs a special home!
Jodie and Gilgamesh
Gilgamesh is one of the Flea Market Gang. He got off to a rough start being all lice ridden and born in a puppy mill environment.
Then when Jodie and I brought them home from there, Gilly was ousted from his family group by his grumpy brother. Soon after that, he had a rather nasty encounter with another young rescue pig named Twist. Poor Gilly seemed to be a square peg, and Jodie has been caring for him ever since.
Boo Boo and Yogi have finally been chosen to join a family!
These two little cuties have been waiting for a while.
Check out what we go today!
Our friends at Montreal Critters helped us get this fabulous hutch for our animals.
Took only about 45 minutes to assemble. It's sturdy, looks great, and keeps the guinea pigs safe!
Morgan and her family dropped to have Billy and Bob's nails clipped yesterday. They are two of my favorite guinea pigs ever, and that's saying something!
Morgan is enjoying these crazy popcorning boys!
Thanks to everyone who has helped, or kindly offered their help with our Backyard Gang mini-population explosion!
Things seems more under control around here now.
The Backyard Gang has Arrived!

These very soft coated guinea pigs mat up very easily. Little Chocolate was getting in a bit of a mess! He got the full spa treatment while he boarded at The Jiggley Piggley Farm this weekend.
Ahhhhhhhh, that feels better!
Grooming is available to all our furry clients!
Lastly, two guinea pigs will be arriving tomorrow morning from a South Shore shelter. I don't know anything about them either...it will be a surprise!
Believe it or not...another visiting guinea pig playing dead at
Jodie's Jiggley Piggley Farm!
It's the amazing Mandy, owned by Jennifer and Gerald!
Welcome to Jodie's Jiggley Piggley Farm's brand new website!
We've worked really hard developing it, and we're very excited to have it finally online!
It is not running under our official domaine name just yet, but it will be very shortly.
Take a look around, most everything is here, but we are still adding and tweaking EVERY day. It does seem to become a little obsession-like really, especially the drop down menus! Not sure how I feel about them just yet.
Hope you enjoy what is here, and that you find it useful in some way.
Your feedback is always appreciated!
